The National Statistics Service of Ukraine has announced that in January-April, the turnover of the retail trade and restaurant sector in Ukraine has grown by 14.8% compared with the same period the year before.

In nominal terms, the figure exceeded 28 billion US dollars.

The National Statistics Service of Ukraine also reminds, that in January-April 2011, retail trade turnover grew by 15.4% compared with the same period of 2010.

According to experts, retail sales continued to show strong growth due to the relatively stable increase in revenue and reduced devaluation expectations. In general, experts predict the growth in retail sales in 2012 by 10%. In 2011, retail turnover in Ukraine grew by 14% to 43.2 billion US dollars.
