The holiday of 8 March is very popular in the CIS countries, on this day all men congratulate their beloved women (sisters, mothers, wives, etc.) and give them different presents. On average the Ukrainian men spend 250-400 UA hryvnias (35-50 USD) in the Internet on the gifts for women on the occasion of 8 March. Such conclusion has been made by the analysts of one of the largest Internet auctions Aukro.ua. Mobile phones are still the most popular present, the same choice of a present as it was in the previous year. Over the first week of March 2012 the share of phones increased by 15% in the total volume of sales comparing with the same period of the previous year.

The experts also say that the Ukrainians have started making more frequent Internet purchases of goods which are not traditional for the Ukrainian Internet – clothes and footwear. This year on the eve of 8 March the sales of goods in these categories have increased by 10%.   

Besides among the most popular online gifts for 8 March are the following: kitchenware and small household appliances, steam irons, hair dryers and curling irons in particular. Souvenirs, fashion jewelry, perfumery and accessories (watches, purses and handbags) are also in the TOP of March Internet purchases.
