Before 2013 Ukraine intends to significantly improve its position in the World Bank’s Logistics Performance Index and enter top 50 country list.
According to Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure Borys Kolesnikov: “If in 2007 Ukraine was ranked 74, then in 2010 it was ranked 102 among 155 countries. Our task is to enter top 50”. These plans were announced at the conference Inside Ukraine 2011: A Success Story in the Making? held in London by Foundation for Effective Governance in partnership with the British newspaper The Economist.
World Bank estimates logistics performance once every three years. When calculating Logistics Performance Index the following parameters are taken into consideration: quality of customs services and logistics, availability of the very infrastructure, access to market tariffs, possibility to trace cargo shipment and delivery timeliness.
