Retail sales of goods of retail trade and restaurant business in Ukraine in January-July of 2012 at constant prices grew by 17.4% compared to January-July 2011, as it was said by the State Statistics Service (SSS).

According to it, in nominal terms, retail sales for the first seven months of this year amounted to 429.1 billion USD.

In July retail sales increased by 12.9% to the same month in 2011 and by 6.4% compared to June 2012, amounting to 35.1 billion USD.

SSS recalls that in January-July 2011, retail sales increased by 15% compared to January-July 2011.

Maximum growth of retail trade turnover in January-July 2012 was recorded in Sevastopol (19.7%), ARC (19.4%), Poltava (19.5%), Donetsk (18.7%), Sumy (18%) , Lugansk (17.9%), Odesa (17.8%), Nicholas (17.6%), Volyn (17.5%), Dnipropetrovsk (17.2%) and Kherson (17.1%) regions.

The leaders in absolute terms of the volume of retail trade turnover in January-July 2012 were Kiev (55.3 billion USD), Donetsk (42.1 billion USD), Dnipropetrovsk (33.4 billion USD), Kharkiv (30.6 billion USD) Odessa (26.4 billion USD) area.

It was reported that retail sales in Ukraine in 2011 increased by 13.7% to $ 346.5 billion USD.
