Only 8.5% of Ukrainian users purchase in internet

In the region of Eastern and Central Europe (ECE) Ukraine occupies second to the next-to-last place according to the popularity of web purchases. Only 8.5% of Ukrainian users purchase in internet. The results of the investigation made by the company GfK Group witness hereon. The highest number of web purchases among the ECE countries is in the Czech Republic. Not less than 54% of people use internet for buying goods there.  

Moreover, Ukraine occupies second to the next-to-last place according to the popularity of Smartphones. Just 8.9% of Ukrainians use them.

In comparison with the owners of ordinary mobile phones, those who use Smartphones access internet from their phones more frequently, including e-shops and e-banking. The owners of Smartphones also use these gadgets for access to the social media. It’s interesting that near 75% of the owners of Smartphones in ECE countries use social networks.

We’d like to remind that according to the investigation held by TNS on Google’s request the most popular category of products among Ukrainian customers, purchasing in internet is “clothes and accessories”.  An average acquisition value in this category makes UAH 438 ($55).
