Retail network of household goods Jysk has decided to open in Ukraine its own, not franchise stores, and plans to open at least 200 commercial properties in all regions of the country in the nearest 10-15 years - informs The Companion.
This was announced by the executive director of "Jysk Ukraine" (Kyiv) Eugene Ivanitsa. "We plan to open at least 200 stores in Ukraine and another 2 thousand stores in the world in the next 10-15 years. All three formats of the chain store will be developed in Ukraine," - he said at a press conference in Kyiv.
According to him, it develops in three standard sizes: the format with which the chain store started, - shopping area of ??1 sq. m hyper format Jysk - to 2 thousand square meters and city Jysk - 500-600 square meters.
As it has already been announced in press conference release, the investment in chain store expansion in Ukraine is meant to reach 1 billion USD.
E.Ivanitsa also reported that in 2013, the company plans to open at least 10 stores in Ukraine, whereas by the end of 2012, no new stores are planned to be opened.
"10 stores - is the minimum plan for the next year. Regarding regions: we have just become a parent organization, and before that it was franchising. At the moment we do not have signed agreements, but we are closely working that the number which we will open next year is supposed to be minimal. We consider opening stores in all regions ... There are twice more orders today that we physically can fulfill"- he said.
According to him, the range of goods in the shops in Ukraine will be represented by 2.5-3 thousand items, and the average retail space - about 1 thousand square meters.
Executive Director of "Jysk Ukraine" also reported that Jysk will open stores in shopping centers as well as free-standing.
In Ukraine, the company has been working since 2004 on franchising and today is represented by 10 stores in Kyiv, Odessa, Kharkiv, Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk, Simferopol, Sevastopol and Yalta.
E.Ivanitsa noted that these stores are considered to be in their own, and not franchised.
