According to the information of the National Bank of Ukraine, this year the volume of noncash transactions does not exceed 8% of overall payment transactions in Ukraine. But next year this index may increase almost in half, experts think.

 “Next year the staging of the European Football Championship in Ukraine and Poland will allow to considerably (up to 10-15%) increase the share of noncash transactions due to foreign tourists,” Anna Sidorova, the Deputy Chairman of Bank Kiyv, pointed out.

The Director of the Card Business Development Department of VAB Bank Yulia Morozova is sure that expecting an inrush of foreign tourists the national traders will come to understand the benefits of the demand concerning terminals installation.

Development and intensification of noncash transactions practice will also be promoted by perfection of the legal framework, increase of e-commerce volumes, expansion of functional possibilities of not only payment cards but also of ATM equipment, renewal of Internet-banking systems, Morozova pointed out. In her opinion, in five years noncash transactions indexes will reach at least 20% in the total volumes of transactions.
